We came to the armory for my grandads 90th Birthday and had Sunday lunch! The food was really good felt like a nice home cooked meal! The starters where limited so abit more to choose from would have been good, I just had bread as none of the other things appealed to me but the bread was really nice and fresh and everyone else enjoyed there starters! The desert was abit cold when served I had the apple crumble and it was ok, not amazing. Some of the staff where really good but one or two members seamed less happy to help! The service was extremely slow on this occasion we spent over 4 hours in there in total from start to finish but my family have been several times befour and said its not usually slow. Overall I enjoyed the experience and would come again!
What a superb find. My family had lunch here today. Three of us had the hake, 2 had veg and mash potato, 1 had fries and salad with it, the other had tuna jacket potato. Everything was freshly cooked and delicious. The menu had a really good selection and it was hard to choose from the excellent specials board. The setting is beautiful, and on a warm day would be lovely to sit outside in the pretty grounds by the cathedral. The staff were lovely and friendly, will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!!
Definitely worth a visit for High Tea if you're visiting the cathedral. Amazing gardens.
Wonderful location to relax and enjoy a pot of tea or a coffee. We enjoyed the toasted tea cakes and from the outdoor seating there are wonderful views of Ely Cathedral and surrounding gardens. Service was quick and friendly and quality was good. Will return.
A lovely little gem and a very friendly place. We went there on a Sunday with a couple of close friends and had a meal which turned out to be delicious, well presented and well served.The place itself it is very clean, welcoming and beautiful and the staff appear to be very efficient, helpful and polite. We did not book a table but this did not seem to be a problem as we were seated in not time at all and given a few minutes to decide what we wanted to order in a very relaxed atmosphere. Well worth a visit, or two... !
