Beautiful cathedral, lovely little high street .
Station is lovely but the staff are rude the ticket office is rarely open and when it is open the staff ignore you to chat to each other 3 members of staff were chatting in the ticket office yet only one window was open and the woman didnt even stop her conversation to tell me if she was processing my request she just demanded I pay not telling me if its the right ticket or anything, you could get better service anywhere else in the world
What a lovely station. Everywhere is so clean leading my wife to say the toilets were the cleanest station toilets she had ever been to. Lots of very nice flowers and it is obvious that some people take great pride in keeping it looking really nice. Waiting rooms and cafe facilities on both sides of the track, unlike Cambridge, seriously good information coming over the loudspeaker system and the best bit of all are the staff who go out of their way to assist the public in a very friendly and courteous manner. We had a really pleasant experience while waiting for our train to Stanstead Airport. The train was eleven minutes late but I wished it had been longer!!! Please dont stop doing what you are doing so well....thank you.
Great friendly staff looking after our friend from Wales travelling with her dog, and luggage as she took a look at the Cathedral.Follow up: Ely is a brilliant station, recently changed here for xrail and Cambrian to Welsh coast from North Norfolk. During beast from the east managed to get to London to catch Euro ski train in time. A great central rail hub with really friendly staff.
Nice station serving Ely. Has a couple of food and snack outlets. Also has a very warm room to keep out of the cold. Warm underground subway connects the two platforms. Also toilet facilities available and one for the disabled. Staff here were very helpful with questions and directions.
