This is a fantastic campsite. Great location, amazing birdlife on the washes and the fens are stunning. The owners are very nice too. Highly recommended
A rustic and quirky campsite in a lovely area, ideal for canoeing and birding. Will is great and shared a giant puffball with us. Camp fires are allowed off the ground, which makes for a cozy evening. Don't expect peace and quiet when the geese are in the Washes - take ear plugs!
A real campsite! Took the kids for one night of camping, greatly enjoyed by all. In a mild mid-September the place was fairly quiet, shared a field with just one other group, but felt like you got plenty of space even if it was busier.Tenner's worth of logs was enough to make a fire last until midnight.Toilets were perfectly good, didn't get to try the showers.Cooked in our pitch, but there's at least one covered area for cooking and potwashing, plus another area near the main washblock, and a self service "cafe" area with microwave if so inclined.Communal fridge/freezers you can leave a marked-up bag of your food in if staying longer.Hope to be back sometime, with more of us!
It's a lovely place, plenty of spaces and great to have a proper fire. The owner came round our first night to say hi and to check if we needed anything the next night his granddaughter came round which was just lovely.A few cons of the place were the 'games' area/shed which leaves alot to be desired - broken toys, missed parts. Also the other communal sheds/areas could do with a spring clean as they don't look like they've been touched for years.
Fabulous little campsite with excellent facilities and a low-energy, chilled out vibe. The toliets and showers are free and clean with a fair usage policy that's more than fair. It's set walking distance from a beautiful village with a well stocked co-op and three pubs so everything you could need within a short trot. Thoroughly enjoyed my weekend here however be careful not to camp under the willows, as your tent and asthma/hayfever will not come out unscathed.
