Had a lovely little family meal.. service was prompt, place was cosy. Nothing to grumble about.. well deserved 5 stars. Shame the bigger some of the well known places weve visited recenrly are unable to provide the same service.
On entering the shop this week, there was a lady behind the counter making hot drinks who completely ignored us, she didn't even bother saying hello and that she would be with us shortly, she just carried on doing what she was doing. When she finally spoke to us a good few minutes later, we ordered 2 cherry flapjacks to takeaway. Rather than using a pair of tongs, the lady put them in the paper bags using her ungloved hands. As they were sticky, she had to prize them apart with her fingers which made us feel quite uncomfortable. She then proceeded to take our money and pass back the change, and went on to serve the next customer without washing her hands. Very poor hygiene. I have since seen on previous google reviews that hygiene is not on their list of priorities. We will not be returning.
Waited over 20 minutes with my partner for one milkshake! The place wasn't even busy. What made it worse is that when I went back to the counter to ask where it was the staff seemed to have completely forgotten! No apology, just told to return to my table and it would be brought through. When it finally arrived my partner was most disappointed. It was nearly all syrup and froth!I later found out the place also has a food hygiene rating of 0! Will not be returning!
For unfortunate tourists only. Locals are very well aware of their 1 star food hygiene rating.Until they take food safety seriously, give this place a pass. Their stale sandwiches aren't really worth the risk anyway...
Nice cafe with good food but service very slow. No indication that u need to order at a counter round the corner and quite expensive for a small cramped cafe.
